Center for Holocaust and Genocide Education
The Center provides a variety of programs, resources, and educational opportunities
for study of the Holocaust and contemporary genocide.
The Mission of the Center is to provide education and remembrance of the Holocaust
and other genocides, to facilitate Catholic/Jewish dialogue and interfaith understanding,
and to do so with high academic and scholarly standards, as well as standards consistent
with the teachings of Vatican Council II.
The Center aims to provide a variety of programs, courses, resources, and other educational
opportunities to SEU undergraduate and graduate students and the community, as well
as for teachers to enable them to help their own students meet the New Jersey State
mandate for education about the Holocaust and genocide.

Center for Human and Social Development
The Center for Human and Social Development is a community resource for individuals,
families, schools, and other organizations in need of support in order to thrive and
achieve their goals. The activities of the Center provide opportunities for members
of SEU's community of learning to experience and learn from service to others.
The academic disciplines that drive the programs in the Human and Social Development
Area are united in their interest in improving the human condition for all members
of society in each of the environments in which they find themselves; be that home,
school, or workplace.
The current focus of the Center is promoting the social emotional learning (SEL) and
character development (CD) of children and the development of positive and respectful
school cultures and climates in K-12 schools. To achieve this objective, the Center
has established a School Culture and Climate Assessment Lab and engaged in three Initiatives.
