About EOF

The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program is designed to provide talented New Jersey students who are both academically and economically disadvantaged the opportunity to attend college in New Jersey.

The New Jersey EOF Program provides support to students who are able and motivated, but requires additional preparation for college study with resources and services needed to succeed and graduate. Upon acceptance into the EOF program, you will be provided with support to maintain continued enrollment through graduation including additional funding to those enrolled in the program.

In addition to the EOF State Grant, students receive support services such as counseling, tutoring, and educational seminars and workshops.

EOF Eligibility

  • Students must be residents of New Jersey.
  • Students must be a high school graduate or have earned their GED.
  • Students must meet SEU's competitive academic criteria.
  • Students must meet financial eligibility criteria.

Requirements of the EOF Program

All first-year students are required to attend and successfully complete the EOF Pre-Freshman Summer Program. This program consists of a five-week rigorous schedule of courses and workshops designed to assist students with the academic and developmental transition into a student's first year of college at Saint Elizabeth University.

Once in the program, students must maintain good academic standing (as per the University), and satisfy all EOF Program participation requirements.

Financial Aid

For students seeking EOF admission for the fall semester, please file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov after January 1 and no later than March 1, or the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application can be completed. Please indicate Saint Elizabeth University as your "First Choice" institution. Follow instructions about submitting copies of income tax and proof of non-taxable income.

Admission Process

  1. Submit your application to Saint Elizabeth University.
  2. Make sure to indicate your interest in EOF by filling out the information in the "Optional Information" section on the admissions application.

  3. Attend interview/information session with EOF staff.

Enrollment Process (once accepted)

  1. Submit Enrollment Form and fee.
  2. Complete all Admissions online Enrollment Forms (Health, Course Schedule, Housing Survey, Athlete Pre-Participation Physical Forms, Financial Aid Planning Worksheet, and Orientation Registration).
  3. Complete these medical requirement forms by April 27.
  4. Complete EOF Pre-Summer Program packet.
  5. Complete financial aid verification.
  6. Attend Basic Skills testing session.

Transfer Students

EOF transfer students are an integral part of the program at SEU. We strive to assist with their transition into a new setting and provide them with the necessary support to ensure their success. All transfer students must follow the steps below.

Admission/Enrollment Process

  • Fill out an admission application.
  • Submit an EOF Transfer Verification Form.
  • Attend a scheduled meeting with the EOF professional staff.
  • Complete and submit entry forms to EOF (given to student upon meeting with EOF staff).
