SEU Scholars Attend EmpowHer ConferenceMorristown, N.J., May 1, 2024 – Saint Elizabeth University's Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) students recently had the opportunity to attend the EmpowHer Conference in Iselin, N.J..   The event, created for young women in college, provided knowledge about relationships, health, wealth, and education.

Representing SEU were eight outstanding EOF students, who joined peers from 13 other universities from New Jersey to partake in a weekend filled with enriching sessions and networking opportunities. The conference aimed to equip young women, particularly Women of Color, with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the challenges and opportunities they encounter in college and beyond.

Throughout the event, students engaged in discussions, workshops, and keynote speeches, covering various key topics. The conference offered an all-inclusive platform for personal and professional growth, from building and maintaining relationships to prioritizing health, advancing education, and building financial literacy.

Reflecting on the experience, SEU students shared impactful quotes that resonated with them. One student highlighted panelist Jasmine Joseph-Forman’s inspiring words, urging individuals to "Just do it scared because you'll never know what opportunities you'll be missing out on if you don't." Others echoed sentiments on the importance of using one's voice and embracing discomfort to effect change.

The EmpowHer Conference was an inspirational event, motivating students to develop lasting connections and apply practical skills to schooling and careers. As they return to campus, these young women carry newfound confidence and empowerment, ready to make a positive impact within their communities and beyond.

The EmpowHer Conference stands as a testament to Saint Elizabeth University's commitment to fostering the holistic development and success of its students, ensuring they emerge as empowered leaders prepared to navigate the complexities of the world.
