MSCHE Accreditation Reaffirmation Update

MSCHE Accreditation Reaffirmation Update

November 14, 2024

MSCHEDear SEU Community,

Last month, the University moved a step closer to the reaffirmation of its institutional accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

On October 4, the campus hosted a Preliminary Site visit by MSCHE Site visit team chair, Dr. Deanne D’Emilio, President of Gwynedd Mercy University, in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania.

The goal of the preliminary site visit was to familiarize the SEU community with the goals of the site visit as well as to assist the team chair in planning how best to deploy the visiting site visit team. President D’Emilio also provided valuable feedback on the evolving Self-Study report.

The day included meetings and discussions with faculty, staff, students, and administration, closing with a visit to the Madison Hotel. President D’Emilio met with President Crosby, the President’s Cabinet, the Self-Study Steering Committee, members of the Board of Trustees, members of the faculty and the staff, the academic Deans, and SEU students.

From now until the full site visit this spring, the SEU community is in high gear, polishing the Self-Study draft and planning professional development events that will help the campus community to understand the reaccreditation process and digest the Self-Study at a deeper level.  The full site visit takes place on March 23-26 on the SEU campus.
