InterLibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary loan is a free service through which SEU students, faculty, and staff can borrow electronic materials not owned by Mahoney Library. Before placing an article request, check Mahoney Library's Online Catalog to be certain that SEU does not have the the item that you need.

If we do not have the journal article that you need, please submit a request using the form below. We will find the items that you need and borrow them on your behalf from any library willing to lend them.
Article Request Form

Please remember to check the Online Catalog articles before submitting your request.

In rare cases the lending library may charge a fee. We do exhaust all alternatives and if a fee-based loan is the only option, we do not borrow the item without first getting your consent to the fee charged.

Please allow 1-4 weeks for materials to be delivered to the library.

Direct Borrowing Options

VALE Reciprocal Borrowing Program:

Undergraduate and graduate students and full-time faculty/staff have privileges to visit and borrow directly from participating NJ college and university libraries under the Virtual Academic Library Environment of New Jersey (VALE) Reciprocal Borrowing Program. ALA Form:

Students or faculty/staff willing and able to travel to the lending library for an interlibrary loan may pick up an American Library Association (ALA) Form at the Mahoney Library circulation desk.

Once you've filled out the form and gotten signed approval from one of our librarians, you may take the form to the lending library to pick the book up yourself.
