About the Pre-Licensure BSN

Saint Elizabeth University's four-year, pre-licensure BSN program prepares students to be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).  SEU nursing students' learning experience will feature a state-of-the-art clinical skills and diagnostics center which will include a high-fidelity simulation lab consisting of 12 examination bays and a patient simulation room with an adjacent faculty observation area.

Students who are interested in the Pre-Licensure BSN degree apply and are admitted to the University with a pre-nursing curriculum. Students are given a placement test during the University's new student orientation program which is used to determine their course sequence in the pre-nursing curriculum.

Students apply to major in the Pre-Licensure BSN program in the spring semester of the freshman year. Application to the nursing major is a competitive process and meeting the minimal admission criteria does not guarantee admission to the nursing program. Transfer students who have completed the prerequisite courses for the Pre-Licensure BSN program may also apply to the Pre-Licensure BSN program.

The Pre-Licensure BSN program has full accreditation from the New Jersey Board of Nursing.

Requirements for NJ Licensure

Graduates of the pre-licensure BSN program will be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

NOTE: A criminal history background check is required by the NJ Board of Nursing and is part of the application process to be approved to take the NCLEX-RN licensing examination.

Unique Program Benefits

  • Long term reputation of high respect in nursing
  • Small classes with individual attention
  • Learning in a state-of-the-art simulation center
