Department Chair

Dr. Marino started her education with a two-year computer science degree then graduated Summa Cum Laude from Monmouth University with dual undergraduate degrees in Education and Special Ed with a minor in Psychology.

She continued her education at Georgian Court University and holds a Master's degree in Instructional Technology and an MBA. Her Ph.D. was awarded from Seton Hall with a concentration in Online Communication.

Her teaching and research are concentrated in business analytics, online communication, and various areas of computer crimes.


Professor William SchievellaProfessor William Schievella

Director, Police Studies Institute 
Program Director, Law Enforcement & Public Safety Accelerated Degree Program

William Schievella serves as the Director of the Police Studies Institute and Professor of Criminal Justice at Saint Elizabeth University. In this position, he oversees the implementation of various executive development programs for law enforcement as well as community-based law enforcement collaboration. Schievella has taught a variety of criminal justice, public policy, law enforcement and leadership courses both on undergraduate and graduate level.

Schievella also serves as the Vice Chairman of National Executive Board of Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence (LEAD) which is the nation’s largest evidenced based drug and violence prevention program.

Schievella also serves as the Community Policing & Public Affairs Coordinator of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office. Schievella previously served as the Director of Communications and Community Policing for the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.

In 2015 & 2016, Schievella served as an Undersheriff in the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.

Prior to retiring in 2014, Schievella served as the Chief of Detectives for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.  In this position, he commanded the sworn Detectives and Prosecutors Agents.  He was responsible for the planning, direction and coordination of all activities of the Investigative Staff.  He oversaw the daily operations of the tactical and investigative units for the chief law enforcement agency for a suburban county of 450,000 residents with thirty-nine municipalities.

Prior to joining the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, William Schievella served at the New Jersey State Parole Board as a Sergeant overseeing its law enforcement operations in Bergen, Morris, and Passaic counties.  He also served as the Task Force Coordinator for the New Jersey State Parole Homeland Security Task Force.

Schievella graduated cum laude from Caldwell College with a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice.  Thereafter, he received a Master’s in Administration and a Post Masters Certification in Global Terrorism from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has also completed the Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. He is a graduate of the prestigious West Point Command & Leadership Program and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Program at Princeton University. Schievella has served as an adjunct graduate professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, he serves as a certified police instructor at the Hudson County Police Academy.

Additionally, Schievella is involved in a number of professional organizations. He is a lifetime member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association as well as the Past President of the County Chiefs of Detectives Associations of New Jersey. Schievella is the President of the NJ Police Community Affairs Officers Association, a member of the NJ Police Honor Legion, and is the founder and current President of the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey representing Italian American law enforcement officers. Schievella is a member of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark and Catholic Diocese of Paterson Blue Mass Committees.

 


Dr. Stephanie Stephenson, M.A., Ph.D.

Dr. Stephenson has over 26 years of law enforcement experience. Dr. Stephenson received her Bachelor's Degree from Morehead State University in Government and Criminal Justice.

Dr. Stephenson went on to receive her Master's Degree from Tiffin University in Criminal Justice Administration while working full-time as a police officer. She received her doctorate from Capella University in Human Services and wrote her dissertation on MMPI and MMPI-II scores, predicting aggressive behavior in Criminal Justice.
