Foods and Nutrition

Make a Healthy Lifestyle Your Career

The Department of Foods and Nutrition offers a solid foundation in science and the liberal arts and approaches the food and nutritional needs of individuals holistically. Our courses of study emphasize evidence-based practices, ethical leadership, social responsibility, service to the community, and lifelong learning.

The undergraduate program in foods and nutrition is undergoing revisions. We hope to announce a new program in Spring 2025. In addition, the graduate program will have a new and exciting program to announce in October 2024.

DPD PROGRAM ACCREDITATION NOTIFICATION

The undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics at Saint Elizabeth University will not be seeking re-accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).  We are pleased to announce that the Department of Foods and Nutrition has received initial accreditation from ACEND for a Graduate Program (future model design).

The new SEU Graduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics will meet the 2024 ACEND and CDR professional standard for a master’s degree and aligned experiential competencies. This program is set to launch Fall 2025!  SEU is pleased to offer a new streamlined pathway for becoming a Registered Dietitian!

The Nutrition and Dietetics undergraduate concentration is currently being remodeled as a pre-dietetics, non-accredited option to help traditional, transfer and second-degree students reach pre-professional program qualifications. If you have immediate questions, please contact Monica Luby at mluby@steu.edu.

The DPD program is no longer accepting new students.

Exciting changes are coming to the Graduate Program in Nutrition; see the Pre-Candidacy statement on the M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetic Internship webpage.
